Our QC Lab Technician position is currently a contract to hire opportunity near the Greenville, SC area. This position will be starting at the $16.00/hour to $17.00/hour. There are two positions open one on daylight and one on afternoon shift. We highly recommend recent High School graduates who are looking for employment right out of school to apply!
Conduct laboratory work as necessary to assure that products are tested per operating procedures. Ensure that work is carried out in an efficient and safe manner. Utilizes judgment in making adaptation and modifications on all assignments under the direction of the QC Leadership (Managers, Supervisor and QC work stream leads).
The position is responsible for various activities including but not limited to:
Ordering and oversight of materials (inventory) for the QC laboratory (including: chemicals, reagents, reference standards, glassware, columns, instrument parts, water, etc) to assure availability to successfully complete testing required in a timely manner based upon upcoming production and testing schedules
Coordinating, obtaining, shipping/receipt and tracking of samples to external testing laboratories, other sites, as required
Leading and assisting with laboratory clean up, including managing and discarding of waste, proper disposal of sample materials, cleaning and organization of glassware and utensils, etc.
Conducting basic analytical techniques based upon training and capabilities (weighing, sample preparations, simple analysis – wet chemistry methods and basic instrumental analysis, etc).
Organizing the QC laboratory according to 5S principles as directed by supervisors and leads.
The position requires attention to details, adherence to standard procedures and commitment to assure timely and routine completion of daily assigned tasks and standard work.
This position will interact with QC, QA, Production, Materials Management and other internal/external groups and should have good communication skills.
This role must be able to lift 25-50 pounds periodically and will be required to use proper PPE when handling of waste and laboratory chemicals.
This role is an integral part of the laboratory operations and assists with activities across the various functional areas.
The position is currently aligned with the In-Process and Cleaning work stream and will work directly with the lead, Supervisor, and Laboratory Management.
Receives assignments in the form of goals and objectives as well as review of inventory on an on-going basis.
Coordination of the daily activities with responsibility for results.
HS Diploma or Associates degree
